Today, I received word that the same screenplay “Bring Back Girl” is among the 10 Finalists for the 2017 Academy Nicholl Fellowship. This is such a mind-blowing honor, what one would call a mic drop moment. To be clear, I am not yet counted as “Winner,” which will go to five of the 10 Finalists. That decision will be made in October. Today, I am walking on air to have gotten this far (there were 7000+ screenplays submitted). Meryl Streep & Oprah Winfrey’s The Writers Lab Selects 2017 Projects New York Women in Film & Television (NYWIFT) and IRIS have announced the screenwriters selected to participate in the third year of The Writers Lab. The program is the only lab in the world devoted to providing script development for women writers over the age of 40.
