The attackers have struck up an excellent partnership and Mane laid on two goals for Salah at the weekend against West Ham. Salah’s brace in the 4-1 win was his sixth and seventh league goals of the season and the Egyptian is Reds’ top goalscorer.
Mane, who has only just returned from injury, has challenged Salah to continue scoring goals and improve his conversion rate. ‘Mo is a fantastic signing for us,’ Mane said. ‘Everyone is happy to have him in the team.
‘We are trying to help him score more goals for the team and he will do it. He is a great player. ‘Honestly, I always enjoy playing with these players. We know each other well. Not just the front three, but all of us. ‘We look forward to playing more games together and playing some good games.’
Mane’s return from injury two weeks ahead of schedule was a massive boost for Liverpool in their final game before the international break. The Reds have missed the pace and directness of Mane, and Salah quickly benefited from the Senegal’s comeback.
Liverpool have now won three on the bounce after a difficult period which included heavy defeats to Manchester City and Tottenham. And Mane has assured Liverpool fans that he is 100 per cent, despite the early comeback. ‘I am very happy,’ Mane said.
‘It was not easy for me to be out with the injury. ‘But more importantly I am back, I played a very good game and we won the game. ‘I am feeling 100 per cent. There is no excuse for me. Even when I was injured I was always working hard.’
