The new governor, also set up a committee committee to look into the accumulated and unpaid salaries of civil servants in the state.
Akeredolu who spoke on Monday at the Governor’s Office in Alagbaka, Akure, when he resumed to office formally on the first day,  said the committee would be headed by the state Accountant General, Mr. Akindolire Herbart Olaolu, and few other senior government officers in the state.
While addressing all state civil servants , the governor said, they deserved their monthly wages and that their welfare would be the priority of his administration
Akeredolu who stressed that he was one of them and preferred to be addressed as a governor and not “Executive governor”, appealed to the health workers in the state, to suspend their strike action, assuring them that he would soon settle down for a round-table dialogue with them.

His words :There is no executive governor, you only have a governor of a state. Don’t address me as such, I am just governor of this state and only the top servant: I am one of you. I am certainly one of you.
