As death toll among Ebonyi Workforce, increases, the State Head of Service, Dr Chamberlain Nwele says workers in the state should avail themselves of routine medical check-ups to ensure they are in tune with their health all the time.
Dr Nwele who gave the advice while disbursing death benefits to families of deceased civil servants who died in active service in Abakaliki, regretted frequency of deaths among civil servants in the state and blamed some on workers lackadaisical attitude to matters that concern their health.
He emphasised that the state government does not derive joy in paying death benefits to deceased members of its workforce but prefers to see them live to realise their dreams in their career.
Dr Nwele urged workers to take good care of themselves, by visiting their Doctors once or twice every month to avoid any unforeseen circumstance that could lead to sudden death.

Nowayo News learnt that over 300 deceased family members were present at the ceremony while those under the public service such as the primary school teachers who reports say are higher in number were advised to go through the local government service commission or the Universal Basic Education Boards in the State.
