The second day of the African Drums festival had two sessions, the morning session was held at olumo rock complex, and the evening session was held at the June 12 cultural center.
Senator Ibikunle Amosun, the executive governor of Ogun State in company of Ogun State born Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka led several thousands of culture enthusiasts from across Africa and friends of Africa, in a historic convergence on world famous Olumo Rock in Abeokuta on Day 2 of @afridrumfest 2018.
The morning session includes conference, Workshop and Exhibition @ The Olumo tourist centre. This is to create a platform through which the very nature and character of Drum and the vocation of Drumming can be distilled in order to rediscover its potentialities as a significant instrument for advancing the cause of the society. The keynote address was taken by Professor Wole Soyinka with other resource persons within and outside Nigeria.
The Workshop is to impart knowledge about the various techniques of drumming, especially in the young ones, to ensure that the vocation begins to manifest its purposed education and entertainment values.
The evening session witnessed international troupes drawn from Haiti, Mexico,  Republic of Benin, Cote Do Voire, Liberia, Rwanda, South Africa, Cameroun, Burkina Faso, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Congo Brazaville and others were on ground with their various drums to exhibit the rich potentials and power of the instruments.
Cultural troupes drawn from different states government such as Kwara, Katsina, Cross River and private troupes such as City of David from Bariga, Lagos and Eni-Afe Reformers Band, Abeokuta gave a taste of what they are made of with their African drums.
