The eye is one of the most vital organs of the body. It is very sensitive and needs to be taken special care.
You sure don’t like darkness do you, so imagine a world where you will have to live everyday in total darkness. This is the more reason why you should take care of it like it’s the center of your life.
Here are some tips to take care of your eye:
1.  Don’t smoke
The many dangers of smoking have been well documented. When it comes to eye health, people who smoke are at greater risk of developing age-related macular degeneration, cataracts, uveitis and other eye problems.
2. Eat Well
Nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids, lutein, zinc, and vitamins C and E might help ward off age-related vision problems likemacular degeneration and cataracts. To get them, fill your plate with:
• Green leafy vegetables like spinach, kale, and collards
• Salmon, tuna, and other oily fish

If you use hazardous or airborne materials on the job or at home, wear safety glasses or protective goggles.

According to the AAO, some studies suggest that regular exercise — such as walking — can reduce the risk of age-related macular degeneration by up to 70 percent.

6. Look Away From the Computer Screen
Staring at a computer or phone screen for too long can cause:
• Eyestrain
• Blurry vision
• Trouble focusing at a distance
• Dry eyes
• Headaches
• Neck, back, and shoulder pain
7. Get your eyes checked at least every two years
A comprehensive, including dilating your pupils, can determine your risk for major eye diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, which has no early warning signs or symptoms. An eye exam also can ensure that your prescription for eyeglasses or contact lenses is up to date.
