1 Samuel 9:3
And the asses of Kish Saul’s father were lost. And Kish said to Saul his son, Take now one of the servants with thee, and arise, go seek the asses.

The loss of his Father’s donkeys led handsome young Saul down an unforgettable trail in search of them. After a couple of days of unfruitful search for the missing donkeys, Saul almost turned back in discouragement but his servant encouraged him to seek out the Prophet Samuel.
As it turned out, God had already confided in the old prophet that Saul was coming and had instructed him to anoint him king over Israel on arrival.

Saul got to Prophet Samuel only to realize that the missing donkeys were merely a divine means to an end. Samuel, by divine revelation informed him that the donkeys had been found.  He anointed Saul King and sent him back the next day. That was how Saul Ben Kish became the first King of Israel.

Just like Saul, you may be desperately searching for something you think is missing in your life. It may be marriage, kids, wealth, position, etc.

Perhaps it took that quest to bring you to God BUT you must understand something very powerful here. You may imagine that you are searching for something missing, but to God, YOU are the one actually lost.

The loss of Kish’s donkeys was God’s way of finding Saul and guiding him to his destiny of royalty. While others found the donkeys Saul was searching for, God himself found Saul.  While you may be looking for something or someone missing to complete you, God is looking for you to MAKE you King.

If whatever you’ve lost has brought you to God, stop searching for it and allow God to establish you. When you lose something, it is an incident, when you meet God, it is destiny.

*When Ruth lost her husband, she clung to Naomi who was a comforting reminder of what she’d lost. This loss and association led her to the God of Israel and a rich husband called Boaz. In fulfilment of destiny, God established her as a progenitor of the coming Messiah.*

*When Joseph lost his dream to envious siblings, the loss led him to God who made him the Prime Minister of Egypt*

From Man’s perspective, every material loss is a minus that must be restored but from God’s perspective, it often is a destiny that must be activated. When God activates destiny, every loss is automatically recovered.

Saul was made King. At the same time, his missing donkeys were found. What a bargain!!!

Fear not beloved, you just may have lost something but God may be establishments a destiny in your case. Trust Him, He knows more than you.

Shalom Beloved.
