Numbers 6:23-27 KJV
Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them,
[24] The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: [25] The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: [26] The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. [27] And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them.

These words of Blessing were usually spoken over the Children of Israel by the Priesthood. They were collectively referred to as The Spoken Blessing. It was a fixed practice in Jewish worship of God. It was a very powerful utterance that empowered the Jews to prosper. This is because it was a declaration initiated by God Himself. The Jews were richly and vastly blessed by the effect of those words on their lives. It worked for them then and “it” will work better for us now if we understand and believe.

In Jewish service,  the Blessing becomes activated by 2 things.  The life blood of sacrificed animals in offering and the Name of God spoken over the recipient.

Exodus 20:24 KJV
An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt SACRIFICE thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I RECORD MY NAME I will come unto thee, and I WILL BLESS THEE.

The contents of the spoken Blessing manifest primarily as Favour (Graciousness) with God resulting in Peace & Preservation in life.

Under the Law, the Blessing was declared over the Jews at the end of every worship ceremony. In the New Testament of Grace, The Blessing no longer consists basically of spoken words - It is THE MANIFESTED WORD called Jesus Christ!

All the sacrifices and spoken words of The Blessing in Jewish worship of Yahweh were primarily targeted at securing Favour, Peace and Preservation from God. The animal sacrifices was for the blood to cover or hide their sins from the direct sight of God. This enables his face to shine upon them in Blessing. The expression “face of God” is a Jewish metaphor for enjoying the favour of God.

Today, Jesus has come as the full expression of God’s Blessing, Favour and Peace to all who would be born into the New Covenant. Jesus is the SUM of every Old Testament Belief and Practice. Today, HE IS THE BLESSING MANIFESTED AS THE GLORY OF GOD.

Ephesians 1:3-4 explains that EVERY Blessing of the Heavenlies has been deposited IN Christ. Since every believer has Christ Jesus indwelling them, the Blessing is therefore NOW resident in us. It is no longer a ceremonial utterance, it has become a residential entrance.
We belong to a better testament founded on better promises, fulfilment and benefits than the Jews.
The very same Blessing which when spoken over the Jews empowered them to enjoy goodness and prosperity, now resides in us as the Christ. Jesus IS the Blessing. He IS also The Name of God today.

We now dispense this Blessing by believing it and affirming it to ourselves and others as personal confession. Of all the confessions in Christianity, the “I AM” confession is the most powerful as it agrees by present tense words with the reality of what has been done for you.

“I AM” CONFESSION

The Father introduced himself at the burning bush as “I AM that I AM”. Jesus came declaring “I AM the Bread of Life, I AM the Good Shepherd, I AM the resurrection and Life” Whatsoever Jesus confessed, He manifested.

I also now confess that “I AM saved in Christ Jesus, I AM Blessed, I AM highly favoured, I AM fruitful, I AM rich, I AM protected, preserved and prospered. I AM established in Righteousness. I AM walking into my day fully anointed to receive every good in this day etc….

Shalom Beloved.
