Psalm 125:1 KJV
They that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.
The Merriam - Webster dictionary defined trust as “assured reliance on the character, ability, strength or truth of someone or something”
This differs in a sense from just believing in or believing a person. Believing a person happens by accepting their words as true. This is persuasion.
Trust differs in the sense that character is placed on trial and concluded as entirely dependable. This requires long term association and relationship with a person to establish.
The Hebrew Word for trust implies implicit confidence in a person to the degree that one feels completely care free about them.
In this respect, trusting a person makes you worry free about them regardless of seeing or not seeing them. The character of the one trusted is so dependable and their acts so predictable that the trusting one doesn’t lose sleep or have any shadow of doubt.
This is a “rock solid” confidence in another person hence the Bible describes the effect of such trust metaphorically as an immovable mountain.
To build or earn trust requires both consistency of character and long term relationship. This causes a person to know another deeply and depend on them strongly.
Do you trust Christ? It takes being intimate with Him. You cannot know Him from afar. The reason for fearfulness and worry is the absence of trust in God. Cultivate a personal and intimate relationship with him today; fear and worry will fly out through the window and you’ll be assured of a greater tomorrow.
Do have a blessed day beloved.
