John 3:16 KJV
“For God so loved the world, that he GAVE his only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH in HIM should not perish, but HAVE everlasting LIFE”
It was as quiet a night as any other.  Some shepherds had returned from the day’s job of grazing the sheep beyond the hills where the grass is greener. Tired and sleepy, they were huddled together for warmth on that windy night with their flock strewn across the field sleeping; as happy as well fed sheep can be. Suddenly, the skies above them lit up with a blazing glory never witnessed before, even as Heaven interrupted their peaceful silent night on Earth.
A huge shiny angel bursting obviously with great delight made a wonderful announcement to the already fearful men.
Luke 2:10-11 KJV
“.....Fear not: for, behold, I bring you GOOD tidings of great joy, which shall be to ALL people. [11] For unto you is born this day in the city of David a SAVIOUR, which is CHRIST the Lord”
While the Shepherds were trying to comprehend and absorb all these. Something else happened! A large number of other angels suddenly joined the first announcing angel, rejoicing and praising God.
Luke 2:13-14 KJV
“And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, [14] Glory to God in the highest, and on Earth Peace, good will toward men”
I’m pretty sure it was the first time these Shepherds were seeing an angel with their eyes, let alone a multitude of angels. JESUS OPENS UP THE HEAVENS FOR EARTH TO GAZE UPON FREELY!
Wow! What a day like no other. God’s greatest gift of all had arrived the Earth. Like every other precious gift, Jesus was first wrapped in a human body and further wrapped in human strips of clothing (swaddling clothes).
Divinity had stepped into humanity to create opportunity for believing Man to once again become spiritual celebrity! What a day, what a God!
The gulf between God and Man which was created by adamant Adam in Eden was finally going to be breached by The Son of God. He came as a flesh and blood man so that He can identify with Mankind in death.
Hebrews 2:14 (Message Bible)
“Since the children are made of flesh and blood, it’s logical that the Savior took on flesh and blood in order to rescue them by his death”
Since Adam (the federal representative of the human race) fell through disobedience as a man, it would require another Man to redeem mankind through obedience.
Romans 5:19 KJV
“For as by one man’s disobedience MANY were MADE sinners, so by the obedience of one shall MANY be MADE righteous”
Gifts come to recipients without any condition except to RECEIVE it.
As we prepare to round the corner into the Yuletide (Christmas) season, be aware that God has already given you the greatest gift of all. Receive Jesus, the gift of God and the ONLY source of Eternal Life (Romans 6:23).
Just like the Shepherds, you may be settling down for the “Night” thinking nothing else can happen this year since it’s practically ended. But beloved, Heaven shall interrupt your hopeless slumber, fill your night with Divine Glory and your life with a testimony - induced wild celebration.
With Jesus, it’s always “Peace and Good will (Benevolence) towards mankind.
Jesus’ birth turned Satan’s effect on the Earth to SMOKE,  but it was His death that marked the end of Satan’s JOKE!  Oh Hallelujah to the Lamb of God!
I have this very strong feeling that you dear reader are in for a very big and pleasant end - of - the - year surprise in this 2016.
Grace be upon you in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
Pastor Ken
