Deuteronomy 32:15 KJV
“But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness…...”
I had ironed those pair of trousers myself against Sunday service. They were my favorite & I love the way I usually look in them. However, come Sunday morning, i bathed and tried wearing them only to find myself struggling to fit into them. The unimaginable had happened - I was overweight!!!
I had become unfit for my favorite pair of trousers.
Being overweight is not fun at all. You’ll lose your smart look, constantly feel bloated, puffy in the face, easily tired, out of breath over any little exertion and need to UPgrade your wardrobe every once so often, unless you take charge.
HOW DO YOU TACKLE WEIGHT ISSUES?
The first thing most people would quickly say is “Exercise!”
While exercise is a great part of the whole weight loss program, I’d say, look for the root cause!
How in the world did you get to this problem? The major culprit is what you eat and the driver of what you eat is your appetite.
Especially as one grows older (40+), the tendency is for the body to burn fat with less efficiency than in the younger days. This causes accumulation of fat around the body especially in areas that “bulge” their way through your clothes when dressed. Thighs, hips, backside, belly, chest are the most guilty areas. There’s nothing as upsetting as a doughnut around your waistline or a protruding belly that hangs over your belt. (I knowwwww!)
Many of us likewise are spiritually overweight.
No one truly enjoys excess weight but most people regrettably lack the will to fight it. The good news however is, everyone and anyone can go back to looking good again by a good self - established weight loss program and complimentary discipline.
The greatest secret however is; watch it before you gain it!
I’ll talk to you more about this in the next edition.
I was created to be beautiful, healthy and energetic. I may have added weight that is affecting my looks, movement and perhaps health, but I refuse to live in the regret of the past. In Christ, I press on toward a goal of reaching my highest and best self. There’s no excess weight I’ve gained that I cannot and will not shed. My future is looking brighter by the day in Jesus name. Amen.
You are blessed and highly favored
