Job 14:7 KJV
For there is HOPE of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout AGAIN, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.

At one point or the other as a child of God, you will encounter situations in life that look hopeless. People may even mock you and conclude that you will never succeed. In such cases, you must allow hope of a better future to keep you going.

Right now, maybe your pocket or account is empty. Perhaps you have no means of getting a place of your own and are thus squatting with someone.
Medical experts may have diagnosed you as barren or classified your case hopeless. No matter how bad your case may be, I want you to know that there’s still hope for you.

The Bible is the greatest book of Hope. It is full of testimonies of ordinary people who have gone through what you are facing, YET triumphed at last. When you read and hear such testimonies, hope rises in your heart by painting for you a picture of a better future.

Child of God, for every situation you find yourself in, God has a human testimony of faith that triumphed through faith.

We’re you medically classified as unfruitful? Sarah conceived and had a son at 90 years.

Are you seemingly incurably sick? The woman with the issue of blood was healed after 12 years of bleeding.

Are you in a prison - like situation and there seems to be no way out? Joseph came from prison and became the 2nd in command of a Nation.

Does your circumstance look dead and hopeless? Lazarus was raised after 4 days from the dead.

Does it look like you’ll die without a husband? Ruth became a very young widow when her husband died, BUT by trusting in God, she married the hottest and richest bachelor in Israel.

Afflicted by poverty and lack? Jabez knew poverty and sorrow YET God changed his story.

Nothing seems to be working? Keep hoping and trying. Do not give up. Isaac dug 3 Wells that the Philistines took forcefully from him. He persisted and kept digging till he dug the Well named Rehoboth!

Failure is an event and NOT a person. It is NOT final. You may have failed before but that is not the end. Hope teaches you to ignore your present negative circumstances and look forward to a brighter future ahead.

Our verse of today states that there is hope for a tree that is cut down to grow again. Though the roots may grow old dry up in the ground, it can still sprout when it contacts water.

Job 14:9 KJV
Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.

In scripture, water is synonymous with the Word of God. As you hear the word of God read, taught or preached, every dry root in your life receives the water of Hope. Very soon, things will change and you’ll bloom, blossom and grow again. Don’t give up. Your future is greater than your past and present put together.

Shalom Beloved.
Ken Okotcha.
