Thousands of ladies tried to keep their best at the Ladies Day in Aintree got off to a flying start as thousands of glammed-up racegoers flocked to Aintree.
But many attendees cut loose as the party continued long into the afternoon, indulging in some bubbly, getting rowdy with friends - or even riding a mechanical horse.
Women tried to look their best as the appeared in colorful dresses and hats in every shape and size – all going the extra mile in a bid to win the prize for best dressed.
Sunshine and soaring temperatures helped the carnival atmosphere at the Merseyside racecourse.
More than 50,000 spectators are expected to attend.
Gates opened at 10.30am this morning and thousands of women are expected to go all out for Ladies Day.
The annual Ladies Day style award remains in place.
The best dressed lady will win a Range Rover Evoque worth £35,000 and a hamper from Barbara Daley Hair & Beauty.more pictures below
